Sunset Refinery is a continuously looping, animated 3d painting in HD with sound. Along the river, through the humidity, drips a slowly evolving lightshow. Chemical reactions in time and space of molecules and spanish moss glow over petrochemical plants. Tumorous refineries belching odd sunsets. The effect and the affected dissolve.
Sunset Refinery was part of the installation at Lawndale in Houston, TX. It was shown at Ars Electronica in Linz Austria, File 2009 in São Paulo, Brasil, during Prospect 1 at the Universal Furniture Building, “Hot Up Here” curated by Dan Cameron at the Contemporary Art Center in New Orleans and the ACA in lafayette, the Southern Open 2009 at the ACA in Lafayette, LA, Frontier Preachers at the Soap Factory in Minneapolis, MN, and my solo show at Wagner Sousa in Galveston, TX.
Sunset Refinery is available in a limited edition of 5.
A limited number of unique inkjet prints from the animation are also available.
