Computers and television have changed the way we look at the world, and how we relate to each other. From first person shooters and video games to social networking sites, these interfaces have restructured how we define our identities; bringing us closer and isolating us at the same time. It is this new media language that I use to investigate the changing realm of technological relationships.

I explore these themes in my software pieces, and in my “paintings” produced on the computer. My recent series of digital prints on die-cut aluminum use video games as a metaphor for our culture. Video games mirror our society while simultaneously affecting the values that drive our societal development. In this series of prints on unique shapes, pop icons distort and reflect back on themselves. Bold colors and densely layered information dissolve the individual object.  Imagery, abstracted from video games, advertisements, and cartoons, create a mediascape, where layers of information suggest a force primed by the media. My conceptual concerns with video games as a mechanism of social construction are behind my choice of format and imagery.
